The Maine Coon Cat is the official Maine State Cat.

Their gentleness and loyalty, their affection, their calm nature, and their natural beauty make them a delightful addition to almost any household. They are very affectionate and love to stick around their owners. They are very placid and go very limp when you pick them up. That is why they are called Ragdolls. They are said to have originated from ancient Egypt. Abyssinians are very intelligent, playful and good with children. They seek a lot of attention and are easy to train.
